Redevelopment
What is Redevelopment?
Redevelopment is generally described as newborn construction on an old plot which has a pre-existing structure in any Housing Society. It gives an opportunity to refurbish old residential complexes keeping pace with changing lifestyles and facilities to upgrade the standard of people who are living in old structures and also creates space for new people. Today, many Housing societies in Mumbai are in need of extensive structural repairs. However, they find it difficult to arrange the funds required to carry out the same.

Slum Rehabilitation Authority
What is SRA?
Slums are a vital part of Mumbai city’s landscape. Around 60 percent of the population is expected to be located in slums in Mumbai. In order to enhance the standard of living, the Maharashtra Government formed a committee in 1995 to develop a scheme to rehabilitate slum dwellers. The main aim of setting up an SRA flat is to provide slum rehabilitation. The slum dwellers jointly agree to a redevelopment of the slums and notify the government to undertake the reconstruction project. The government then works with a private developer who is shortlisted on the basis of a successful bid.

What is Self-Redevelopment?
For Society members, taking up Self redevelopment of their housing society keeps the members safe from any risks arising from Builder mismanagement. This is possible as the overall control of the project including the ownership of the land is always in the hands of the society.
